Any trip to the central Lakes isn’t complete without visiting the village which was home
to poets William Wordsworth and Samuel Taylor Coleridge.
Surrounded by classic Lakeland fells such as Helm Crag (or ‘Lion and the Lamb’) and Fairfield, Grasmere is also a village visited by Alfred Wainwright’s “Coast to Coast” walk and is popular with those in search of both gentle lowland and high fell walking.
Grasmere is also home to the world famous gingerbread, with Sarah Nelson’s Shop
just across the lane from Grasmere Garden Village.
